Angela Evelyn Bassett is an American actor from the United States. Known for her work in television and in film in the 1980s, she has received various accolades including two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett was brought up by her aunt in Winston Salem, North Carolina. She was born and grew up within New York New York. Bassett, her sister and their mother moved to St. Petersburg Florida when Bassett was 5 years old. Their father split from the mother of their children. While in high school Bassett watched John Steinbeck's drama Of Mice and Men starring James Earl Jones and decided she would like to be an actor. Yale University New Haven Connecticut in which she graduated with her bachelor's in African American and master's degrees (1983). She was introduced to Courtney B. Vance, a fellow actress at Yale and they got married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Master of Arts (Afro-American studies) in the year 1980. An M.A. in Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett plays Ramonda as one of the major parts in the action film i.e. Black Panther: Wakanda forever (2022).
